AMY & KARINE

AMYKARINE is a European brand, established by amateur artists, sisters Amy and Karine Brutijan, to celebrate the sophisticated fusion of art and fashion. Both sister have always had a passion for art and design, experimenting with various forms such as painting, sculpture, design, and drawing patterns for fashion textiles.

Born in Moscow into an honourable family with deep artistic roots, with their father being a well-known writer and grandfathers – a renowned musician and a famous graphic artist, both sisters graduated from the prestigious Lomonosov Moscow State University. Karine obtained MA degree in History and Linguistics, worked as a lecturer in foreign languages, history and culture at Moscow State University. As a guest researcher she travelled to Salzburg University and then did many workshops in graphic, painting and sculpture in Austria, as well as in Russia. Amy gained a Ph.D. degree and Associate Professor Title in Political Science and Sociology and has worked for many years at Lomonosov Moscow State University as an Associate Professor and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Television before moving to Europe. Drawn by their shared love to art and design sisters started their own brand AMYKARINE.

From the beginning AMYKARINE has received a lot of attention in the press, with journalists featuring AMYKARINE creations in fashion magazines worldwide. AMYKARINE first exhibited their works at Contemporary Art and Design Fair in London and immediately gained many fans among art & fashion lovers. It participated at LOOKK exhibition and online contest and got to the top 100 designers by an independent public voting.

In 2014 AMYKARINE creations were exhibited in Felicities Designer Showroom in London, receiving great interest among the British press. Their collection of hand-drawn exquisite silks was featured in such British magazines as Attire Accessories, MY Fashion, Urban Coco, The Style Lane, My County Wedding, Your Coffee Break and many others. French actress Cristina Scagliotti is the face of AMYKARINE advertising campaign.

AMYKARINE creations unleash unexpected combinations of colours and unique designs, reflecting undeniable energy. The artworks by AMYKARINE are beyond any national style and speak the language understood everywhere – the language of true beauty, exquisiteness and artistic creativity.
